Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Triche Atkins
Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Triche Atkins, affectionately known as Rev. Jackie, is a minister on the ministerial team at Christ Universal Temple and an attorney. Also, she is the Founder and CEO of ShoVal & More, NFP. Its mission is to lead people to a new or renewed awareness of their intrinsic greatness. Rev. Jackie, through conferences, classes, workshops, coaching, and spiritual counseling, fulfills the mission. ShoVal & More, NFP has an intense focus on women.
During the past fifteen years, Rev. Jackie has coordinated an annual women’s conference. Seven years ago, God gave her the name, “The GOLD Rush” for the women’s conference. In March of 2012, she coordinated The GOLD Rush, and taught in its general sessions, along with Iyanla Vanzant and other great speakers. Most recently, in April 2019, powerful women such as Rev. Sherrie Thompson of UP Church in Los Angeles, the internationally known Rev. Dr. Cynthia James, Rev. Dr. Shaheerah Stephens, Senior Minister & Founder of TLC in Detroit, Michigan, Rev. Lola Wright, Spiritual Leader of Bodhi in Chicago, and Rev. Jackie presented at The GOLD Rush Women’s Conference. She, along with such speakers, shared powerful and productive tools with hundreds of women to help them turn their potential into manifest power.
Rev. Jackie has been involved in numerous civic endeavors, including presiding as the first African American president of the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago. As a gubernatorial appointee, she served on the Illinois State Board of Education for six years. She has served with numerous organizations that work to create affordable housing in strong communities. From 2010 through 2014, Rev. Jackie served as the president of the board of A.C.T.S. of F.A.I.T.H., an organization organized with sixteen member churches (approximately 75 thousand members) to address the health disparities and inequities confronting residents on the South Side of Chicago.
In 2009, Rev. Jackie was elected to the board of directors of the International New Thought Alliance (“INTA”) and served as its First Vice-President through 2016. She was the INTA official representative at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Australia in 2009; and presented on two panels. She is sought as a spiritual teacher and as a speaker on topics such as “Life Forever? Then What about Death,” “Organizational Change,” and “How to Uncover Your Hidden Power.”
Rev. Jackie has received numerous awards. She has published many short articles and poems, and wrote a monthly article in Metamonthly, a New Thought publication, for 9 years. She received her Juris Doctorate from the College of Law, Univ of Ill; her Masters of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary and was inducted into the Morehouse Board of Preachers in King Chapel in Atlanta in 2006.
From 1973 through 2015, Rev. Jackie practiced law as an attorney in the estate planning legal departments of Mellon Bank and First Chicago; as General Counsel for Independence Bank of Chicago; as Executive Vice President of an affordable housing corporation; and as a lobbyist, representing the major Chicago museums in Museums In the Park from 1996 through 2007. Her most recent practice was bringing her estate planning knowledge to the community, preparing wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Although she has traded in her legal shingle for her ministry shingle, she considers that she is continuing to answer her call to serve.
