UNDERSTANDING, A KEY TO A GOOD LIFE

Spiritual understanding is the conscious awareness of our oneness with God and the realization that divine truth operates through us. It is more than intellectual knowledge; it is an inner knowing – a shift in perception that allows us to see beyond appearances and respond to life from a place of divine wisdom, rather than fear and limitation.
In the Revealing Word, Charles Fillmore goes on to define spiritual understanding as
the quickening of the Spirit within. It is the ability of the mind to apprehend and realize the laws of thought and the relation of ideas one to another. He explains that
understanding can be gained in two ways: either by following inner guidance or by
proceeding without direction and learning through experience. It’s our choice of being guided by our inner spiritual knowing or our intellectual understanding!
God is not a distant being but the very essence of life – Spirit, Mind, Principle, or Infinite Intelligence present within every person. Spiritual understanding refers to the ability to identify this presence within oneself and others, and to live in accordance with it.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy
paths.”
This scripture tells us to move from ego-based thinking to divine guidance. We “lean
not unto our own understanding” when we stop reacting to the world from fear, doubt, or separation and instead allow a higher spiritual truth to lead our decisions and actions.
Jesus referred to this profound understanding when he stated, "The kingdom of God is within you."; (Luke 17:21) This is a direct affirmation that divine understanding is not something we search for – it is something we already possess; the key is to turn within and tap into it.
Let Spiritual understanding show up in your everyday life. It will mean responding to
conflict with love and grace, to practice forgiveness, to affirm wholeness in the face of dis-ease, and choosing thoughts that align with peace, abundance and truth. Trust Spiritual understanding to put a foundation under your prayers and give our spiritual activity something to stand on when we use tools like affirmative prayer, meditation, and spiritual study to deepen the awareness of the divine within.
Spiritual understanding is the ability to be grounded in truth and acting from the truth of who we are, the God in expression. Using divine wisdom with understanding is the foundation for healing, transformation, and living a life of purpose and inner peace when we remember: ‘Wisdom knows …Understanding knows why.’
Affirm: “Divine understanding lets me see to the heart of matters and know what
to do and how to do it!”
