The Season of Celebrations

It is the holiday season. We are celebrating. What’s one of the celebrations?
It’s Christmas! In a certain language the suffix, “mas” means “more.” And the
meaning of the word, “Christ” is “the anointed one.” Thinking on these terms
brings me to an exciting understanding of this holiday season. It is a celebration
of a joyful time for all to experience more of our blessedness. Each of us is
made in the image of God. We are spiritual beings living in human forms. Our
Spirit, in accordance with the book of Genesis, is God’s breath. It is what
makes us a living being. So during this season we are reminded to live out of the
awareness that we are God made, that we are blessed. During this Season we
honor and bring forth the Christ by celebrating love. We think love, feel love,
speak, act, and react out of love. Gifts given reflect our love. Gifts received
reflect our love. Family gatherings are wonderful opportunities for sharing love.
We sing the songs of the season, such as “peace on earth, goodwill towards
men,” recognizing the ability of the Christ to show forth through all people. So
during this season, let us remember that we are being called to live out of our
anointing, our loving God, our loving selves, loving all people everywhere!! Let
the Christ show up through our living; and let us recognize the Christ in everyone
as we exclaim, “MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
May each of you enjoy a GOLDEN Christmas Season!
May you be blessed by the principles honored as you experience a Happy
Kwanzaa!
