Engaging in spirituality leads you to know yourself.
Even as…
“Freedom is being yourself without permission.”
and…
“Becoming independent of the good opinions of others.” Dr. Maslow
While…
“It is important to know we can celebrate our independence, but more so to ensure we are not living in-dependence.” E. Welsh
Yet, in the end…
“Independence isn’t doing your own thing; it’s doing the right thing on your own.”
Kim John Payne
And, my Sisters, what is the right thing for us to do at any time? The question is
answered by us, for us and through us, as we engage in spirituality or spiritual
practices. Engaging in spiritual practices begins by us recognizing that a Higher Being created us out of Itself. Awakening our Faith, we can believe that our Higher Power is Wisdom, Power, and Presence loving us beyond our imagining! Beginning our spiritual practice daily by spending time with our Higher Power is the most important step for us to learn what is the “right thing.” This spiritual practice is more than prayer where we are speaking; it is in meditation, where we are listening.
Next, our spiritual practice is “living” our Truth. Wisdom becomes our guidance as to
what to think and speak, how to feel and ultimately what actions to take to experience independence. Power provides us with the “juice” to follow through with the appropriate actions, even if they require perseverance beyond our human understanding. The Presence enables us to be aware that our Higher Power is always present for our highest good. Indeed it is the Source of our Freedom. We need only to be still, turning away from the facts and the appearances; and face the Presence to manage every situation freely doing the right thing.
Our Spirituality is indeed the source of our Freedom! And, always from our Freedom,
do we experience an independence that allows us to celebrate everyday as
Independence Day!
