Some of the richest people have been encumbered by feelings of imprisonment. Some of the poorest have, too. Many well-educated men and women have often felt ill-prepared. And some folks with the greatest talents have been tied in knots of ignorance. Though these persons seemingly are beset with different types of challenges, each is wearing self-imposed shackles. Their erroneous thoughts and the emotions that flow from those thoughts create the jail cells in which they live. In each case, the person appears to have lost sight of the realization that he or she is made in the image and after the likeness of God. Additionally, as important, the realization of the omnipresence of God is absent from the consciousness of many of these folks.
Omnipresence, as defined by Charles Fillmore is “God is Mind. The one Mind contains all, and all ideas exist in the one Mind. God is everywhere present. There is no place where God is not. God is in all, through all, and around all.” When we truly realize God’s constant presence and are intentional about communing with God, we are on the road to liberation. God is unlimited potential and whatever our situation, the good is there for us to access. Freedom that enables us to live a happy, healthy, and prosperous life requires us to open our spiritual eyes and realize God’s Presence in every situation. In that way, we can see what the lesson is, what is the blessing and what we are to do.
Yes, the basis of Freedom is a realization!
