2026 - The Spiritual Meaning of Faith in a Practical World

This month’s focus is the Power of Faith. Because many of us have faith that we will be around to see the end of this year, we plan, dream, and make resolutions.

For me, the spiritual meaning of Faith in a practical world is that although things may not turn out the way I want them to, I still believe there is a God who loves me and will help things turn out good for me, no matter what.

In November 2024, when I was released from my place of employment after 9-1/2 years, I had faith that God had work for me somewhere else – and I was hired within just a few weeks.

In January 2025, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had faith that God would not only get me through this, but that I HAD to get through this to help others – and I was pronounced “all clear” in July.

Now, this January, when I was standing in a prayer vigil for the victims of ICE last week, I felt the love amongst the crowd, and I have faith that our country will repair itself someday.

Having Faith is not easy, but it’s worth it, as we pray on the verse in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

This year, may you turn to whatever you need – prayer, meditation, journaling, reading, or being with the like-minded – to strengthen your Faith!
